Incorporated in the mid 1940’s, Speed Selector began in downtown Cleveland, Ohio specializing in the design and manufacture of lawn tractor transmissions.
The company re-located to Chagrin Falls, Ohio (40 minutes Southeast of Cleveland) in the mid-1950’s and developed a diverse line of Mechanical Variable Speed Pulley Drives( Hi-Torque MVSDs®) for a broad spectrum of applications and equipment.
Speed Selector outgrew its physical plant and built a new facility in the late 70’s on three acres, also in Chagrin Falls, OH. The plant was later expanded to 32,000 sq. ft to incorporate all design, engineering, manufacturing and marketing functions. (this section moved up)
